Teaching in Generate School of Ministry
The director of
Generate School
of Ministry, Pastor Priscilla Boore, asked if I would teach "Berean"
college-level Bible classes to their interns during the first semester in the
Fall of 2008. I wholeheartedly agreed, as I do see this as a
"calling," and thus I am passionate about it. I rearranged my priorities to
dedicate myself to the task of studying and teaching for eight consecutive
weeks.

On August 5, 2008, Marsha and I had the privilege
of fellowshipping with Pastors John and Priscilla Boore at the Olive
Garden. Pastor John primarily leads the Youth group at VLC and
Priscilla primarily leads the the School of Ministry for interns
desiring to be Youth Pastors, though both help each other. |
Thus, for the first semester of the Fall
of 2008, I taught the Berean class on the Hermeneutics, also known as
Biblical Interpretation. I very much enjoyed the first class of four interns. I
was then asked if I would teach another class for the second eight-week semester in the Fall
of 2008. Thus, I taught Introduction to Theology: A Pentecostal
Perspective to three other interns, thereby teaching classes to all
their currently active students. For the Spring semester of 2009, I had the
privilege of teaching all six interns Introduction to Assemblies of God
Missions, supplementing each class with insightful sharing by a guest
missionary (present or past). Immediately after returning from my missionary
endeavors in Congo, Africa, in the Fall of 2009, I taught Introduction to Theology: A Pentecostal
Perspective to five interns, some (if not all) of whom expressed that
they thoroughly enjoyed this class. As I finished my final graduate class in
Spring of 2010, I also taught Eschatology: A Study of Things to Come
to the same five fabulous interns. To celebrate the end of their class and
my graduation with a Master's degree in Theology from Southwester Assemblies
of God University, we held a party at my home where Jose catered the dinner
with a Crème Brule dessert.

Pastor Priscilla & Doug |
On February 27, 2009, Marsha and I had another
nice meal and fellowship with Pastors Priscilla and John Boore. As
the Director of the Generate School of Ministry, Pastor Priscilla
had asked if I would teach a Missions class for all of their
students next semester. I agreed. After lunch,
I
presented a check to Priscilla from Verizon for $750, as a result of
volunteering 50 hours in the Generate School last year. She was
extremely appreciative and excited. |

On February 7, 2010, Marsha and I had a nice
lunch with Pastors Priscilla and John Boore along with our young
children. Dimitri played his DS
game while Larissa watched in awe. During lunch,
I
presented a check to Priscilla from Verizon for $750, as a result of
volunteering 50 hours in the Generate School last year. She was
very appreciative. |

With the moving of the Generate school and
director, Pastor Priscilla Boore (along with her husband John), to Texas in
June of 2010, my teaching of the interns has completed. It has been a
rewarding experience, and I pray blessings and God's guidance on each
intern.
